Policing is done from the new 43 Division station located in West Hill on Lawrence Avenue at Manse Road. Opened in 2006, this major multi-million dollar facility is a significant enhancement to policing in the area. The station is open 24 hours a day and has contributed greatly to a safer environment for West Hill's citizens.

Fire station Number 234, part of the East Command of the 5th largest Fire Service in North America, guards over the West Hill area. Located on Coronation Drive, beside the Robert Borden school, its fire fighters are alert and ready to help, as I can testify from personal experience. When my step father suffered a heart attack while out shoveling snow, the fire fighters from this station were there within minutes to help him relax and to provide the oxygen that saved his life.
