Nothing so poignantly
illustrates the decline in the commercial viability of West Hill as
does the creeping blight of used car sales outlets strung haphazardly
along West Hill's main street, the Kingston Road. Once a diverse
collection of shops serving the community and the tourist trade, far
too many of West Hill's stores have been replaced by endless rows of
used car outlets.
Once a gas station and variety
store, now--A Used Car Lot
Once a Real Estate office, now--A
Used Car Lot
Once a tool rental shop, now--A
Used Car Lot
Once a Dairy Queen now--a Used
Car Lot
At the the top of West Hill Dr.,
now--A Used Car Lot
Historic corner of Kingston Rd
and Galloway, now--A Used Car Lot
Over 14 different used car
dealers now compete between the Guildwood GO station and Highland
Creek bridge
It is critically important to the economic viability of the area that every effort be made to return Kingston Road to a diversity of commerical enterprises.
